Sophia - assuming all 25 courses transfer (71 credits) - (2 class have 1 credits and not including - college algebra and stats - taken at Aleks) = (71 credits at Sophia)
TEEX - 10 credits (3 Cyber Electives?)
Death Investigation - 3 credits (UL)
The Institutes Ethics - 3 credits
CSMLearn - 3 credits
ALEKS - 9 credits (College Algebra, Trig, Stats)
= 99 credits (with 1x 3 credit UL Death Investigation)
= 15 credits left ( She needs more UL though if she goes to COSC vs TESU )
- Could this format work?
- Where should she take the rest of her classes? She still needs 30 UL for COSC.
- Could Language Exams fulfill the reaming of her UL gearing towards Humanities? Saylor, Davar?
I know I keep repeating myself here and it has been answered, but I guess I am still confused, It is hard to wait till she completes all this before finding out because so much planning is involved financially and time due to her health situation too.
Thank you guys!
You actually need a degree plan for each school, to see where all of the credits fall. It's not just a matter of taking 120 random credits, they have to "fit" into a degree plan.
As I told you when you PM'd me, nobody on here has reported back after sending the ACTFL courses to COSC, so it's impossible for us to know where those would fall. Your only option is to take the tests, then send them in for an eval. TESU has definitely taken the ACTFL courses, but no one has reported course equivalencies for all 4 exams. You REALLY just have to take the tests, and then send them in to get the info. You can't have us do all of the work for you, sometimes you have to do the leg work and contribute to this forum as well.
A TESU degree is easy, here is a plan.
For COSC:
- you need a lab science
- Saylor doesn't have any UL courses in the BALS area, but they have 3 UL business courses she could use there (she'd have to get the BSLS rather than the BALS)
- I don't think they accept Davar credits, so those are out
- There are UL UExcel exams that will work, but you have to go to a PearsonVUE testing center to take them
- Study.com has UL BALS courses that will work
- they don't take Coopersmith which has a bunch of UL
- they require that you get your concentration pre-approved, and it's coherent
I created a COSC plan, but there are assumptions:
1) you score high on the ACTFL OPIc and WPT, and COSC brings those in as 6crUL/6crLL for both exams
2) you get a concentration in Foreign Language & International Business, and it's approved (you'll need Study.com rather than Saylor for this)
Honestly, you just first need to have her do the ACTFL exams, and then send those in. Everything hinges on her getting those credits. Until you see what they come in as, you're kind of stuck - you don't know if you'll have enough UL, and you don't know if you'll have a good concentration (COSC). And you won't know how many other courses you'll need from the other course providers.
