I will have an additional four classes to add to national paralegals list once I graduate in July :
Plg-111-1602 alternative dispute resolution 3 cred
Plg-107-1603 domestic relations
Plg-404-1604 legal document preparation
Plg-302-1695 administrative law

Couple of things I don’t know. Your Paralegal coursework parallels the COSC requirements for the Paralegal Studies Concentration https://www.charteroak.edu/prospective/p...tudies.cfm I don’t know if that means they would transfer those in at the Upper Level or not, my gut says they won’t…but be worth a call to try and find out (plus the will you transfer these NA credits for confirmation)
Looks to me like English Comp, Math, and Ethics are all covered from the general ed requirement…but that’s about it. Look at the link in my signature for ideas on what exams or courses are cheap to complete these. https://www.charteroak.edu/catalog/curre...ements.cfm

At a glance you need the following:

Oral (speech) or a waiver for it
US History/Government
Global Understanding
Non U S History/Culture
Literature/Fine Arts
Social / behavioral Science
7 credits of Natural Science including 1 credit of Lab

Penn Foster offers a bunch of these for a good price, straighterline is an option, credit by exam of course, and there are others.
FEMA is free at COSC and should be considered for any electives as it can reduce your cost.

You will need 30 overall Upper Level (UL) credits one way or another…either those paralegal come in that way or you will have to find them. Penn Foster is great, some DSST exams are UL, some TECEPS and EC exams are also UL….there are enough exams, but you may or may not be attracted to a given example.

BS Charter Oak State College November 2011

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Awonser Wrote:I spoke with admissions representative from TESU. She informed me that because my national paralegal college credits were assessed by NCCRS they will accept all my credits. So from personal experience then is TESU A better school to go with to obtain what I'm trying to do ? Thoughts ?

It's hard to say, because you don't know where the credits will come in at both schools. It's easy to see where the non-paralegal courses will come in for both, but not the paralegal courses. Are they going to be business classes? Will they count in your area of study?

Until you know that, you can't really make a good decision. At TESU, there are a lot fewer requirements for UL courses (you only need 12cr UL in your AOS), and you can test out of the capstone. But they have a lot more hard requirements (hard meaning set in stone) for the Business degree, and the number of free electives is not good if you have a lot of those. Just a lot less flexibility with that degree.

BUT, there is the BS in Professional Studies, and Paralegal Studies is an option there. I know absolutely nothing about that degree and how it works, but it might be a better option at TESU for you than the BSBA, if you're open to options.

Anyway, I would just do a little research on the degrees, and see what the path forward looks like for both schools, and then make your decision.

I second (or third) the idea of applying to both, where your credits land, especially if they come in as upper or lower, is critical to the decision.

I agree with those above about applying to TESU and COSC to see where your classes will fall into your preferred degree. In comparing the colleges form a different standpoint, COSC was much easier to deal with. I had someone to answer my questions before enrolling and the registrars' office was accommodating as well. Once I enrolled, I had an advisor assigned to me who stayed with me until I graduated. I found the school to be much easier to work with and they seemed more together. I didn't stay with them because I thought it would be harder to acquire my UL credits. You have to weigh everything and decide what is best for you. Good luck!
