I've reached out to UC SD regarding this program. They don't expect to have it approved before end of 2020, possibly even 2021.

don't forget the immersion fee
For students who start the program in January 2018 or later, there will be a $500 immersion fee. Students will also be responsible for the cost of their hotel stay during the immersion and travel to and from the immersion.
this doesn't have the name recognition, but seems like a MUCH better program and still at a decent price
