Anyone with an IT Security background would never use TikTok regardless of their politics. There is no such thing as a "private" company in China. ByteDance can at the full discretion of the Chinese Communist Party turn over any and all personal information collected to them by the Tiktok app, including geolocation and biometric data.
I don't have any personal identifiable information on any social media platform but that is a separate discussion.

seems unconstitutional
I think the real problem is that Washington knows they can't pressure TikTok to turn over info of people who spread "disinformation" the way they can with youtube, facebook and twitter or to pressure TikTok to block and ban those people
if the politicians in the US had a little control they would have less of a problem
the more control they have the fewer problems they will have

My Very Dear E-girl:
The tea is spilling that we shall move in a few days, perhaps TMR. Lest I should not be able to write you again, I feel impelled to DM, that may fall FYP when I shall be unalive.
Forgive my many faults, and the many Ls I have caused you. How mid, how cheugy I have oftentimes been! How ISTG I would wash out with my tears, every little spot upon your happiness, and struggle with all the misfortune of this world, to shield you and our fam from harm. But I cannot, I must watch you from my afterlife era and hover near you, while you buffet the storms with your precious little freight, and wait with sad patience till we meet to part no more.
But, O Sarah, if the unalive can reality shift back to this earth, and rizz unseen around those they loved, I shall be near you 1437, in the bones day, and the no bones day, and the darkest night amidst your bussingest scenes and gloomiest hours always, always, and, if the soft breeze fans your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air cools your throbbing temples, it shall be my spirit passing by.
Periodt.

This is a fascinating discussion. I have yet to decide which side I am on.
1. I embrace all of our God given rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights.
2. I am leery of the PRC.
Perhaps, gathering my thoughts begins here: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/how-a-...ent-rights

A study shows that 64% of youth and 59% of young adults would give up their right to vote than lose the right to post on social media

From the NY Post article -
" But top among them is that recent studies have found as much as 20% of the platform’s videos contain misinformation..."
My primary concern is - Who gets to the arbiter of what is, and what is not, misinformation?
I wonder - Can citizen journalism survive?

At least that explains what is wrong with society.

That would be true if TikTok was a U.S. owned company. I find it hilarious people do not understand the ramifications of giving their personal information to the Chinese Communist Party. Anyone concerned about free speech or the U.S. Constitution would not be using TikTok in the first place.

Apparently TikTok users do not care about this since they are willing to trust the Chinese Communist Party with being that arbiter.
The same government that welded people inside their apartment buildings during COVID.
