Civil war and reconstruction is an upper level exam, and I found it a bit tougher than US History I & II.
You probably should take:
1. US History I
2. US HISTORY II
3. Human Culture & Geography
BUT (big but) whether you take civil war or human culture & geography would depend on if you have previous knowledge in one or the other.
Good luck!

I agree with the above advice. U.S. History I & II you should take, they will most likely be a bit easier. The other two are more difficult, it depends on your prior knowledge which of the two would be any easier. I'm horrible with geography, and I studied the Civil War a bit while studying for U.S. History I & II, so I think that was the best one for me to take. But if you have an excellent grasp of geography, then the other one could be better.

Take the US Hist 1 and 2..you have been taught this in school for many years so you should have some knowledge.
Also the CLEPs are LL and Pass/Fail..so get in the groove studying and test wise, the DSSts Civl War and the other are graded and will go down on your permenant record.
Speaking of which, what happened with your friend and the CC college grades she wanted to remove ?

I found Civil War and Reconstruction one of the harder tests. Whereas US History covers the whole US over a certain time frame, Civil War covers a geographical area and time period that is much much smaller. To me, all the battles sort of ran together and I could never remember who won what and the Generals of each side.
My advice would be to save Civil War for last, unless it's something you know about already.

I figured that the Civil War one would not be too hard for me because I live in Virginia, and all through school that is all we learn about.
I guess its a good thing to live in the town where the civil war started?
