Did anyone else have that experience? Anyway I can't see the courses without submitting my info which is giving me a bad feeling. It's ACE credit? I called and asked a bunch of questions. The courses they are offering for free at intro to management and us history i. These are ace credits they go on ace transcript. These are the only courses they are offering for free they will not substitute other courses. Yes you have to give your information but you do not have to buy thing or subscribe to their services. These really are free no strings attached. But who knows maybe with your information they will try to sell you stuff but you can always turn them down. I would just skip this if you already have us history I or management filled or dont need us history i and management for your degree. And you can only do one of these courses anyways. Sophia is free with less headache and potentially selling you stuff.

One more question, the US History 1 on sophia appeared not to be proctored. But they say it is completed and waiting for transcripts.
Are all the other courses on sophia also not proctored right now?
I am also taking Algebra, Biology and Greek philosophers on sophia. As well as Medical Terminology at TESU, TECEP format.
Thanks for the ASU link, I probably won't be able to take any of those classes.
Still sad that they shut down the test center just as I was about to take a 6 credit CLEP for Analysis & Interpretation of Literature, which I need to complete Info Literacy.
1) Sophia courses are proctored using a different method, it's biometric proctoring without the use of a webcam. Which means, you type a sentence and it will read/track, differentiate you using those methods, further to that, when you're on their site, they know your ISP/IP info.
Anyways, you are proctored using different means... I especially like this and recommend it for people with test anxiety (like me) even though I am fine with ProctorU or RPNow, and being recorded, etc. The TECEP uses ProctorU, you will be recorded in real-time, actually not recorded but proctored by a person in real-time.
2) Info Literacy can't be transferred into TESU, if you're taking the CLEP it'll go into the General Education or Free Electives, and if you're going for a BA/BALS, it'll go into the AOS LL. You will need to take the Cornerstone at TESU.
Clepper43, in the link provided above for sign up, the last area is a drop down, you can choose only those two courses mentioned. If you need Principles of Management or American History, Pearson/Lumerit Unbound has made an offer of those SPECIFIC courses free, at this link: https://go.getunbound.org/spring-course-tf
Now in regards to Pearson/Lumerit, they are a for-profit company in the education sector, they want your info, not necessarily to sell it, but just like Sophia.org/StraighterLine/Study.com they'll need your info for transcript purposes and just like them, they want to up-sell you more courses by sending you more ads/coupons, etc.

Thanks, ok so their proctoring is not with camera.
Also I am 2019 catalog with completed TES-100 as Cornerstone, so the academic advisor already approved Analysis and Interpretation of Literature CLEP 6 credits , LIT-291 goes to satisfy Info Literacy and LIT-292 goes into Free Electives.

As an update, Pearson/Lumerit/Unbound requires a lockdown browser for all quizzes, tests, and the final. But they don't require video recording so that is nice. All quizzes though must be taken through the lockdown browser which seems like an extra hassle to me, but I haven't tried it yet. It looks like the vast majority of your learning will come from a textbook, which I'm not a fan of, so we'll see how far I last!

If it helps anyone, here are the course descriptions of the two free Unbound courses, taken from their e-mailed catalog:
"PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT
There are a variety of different management philosophies in today’s changing world, and this course
will introduce you to all of them. You’ll take a look at globalization, ethics, diversity, customer service,
and innovation from a managerial perspective. You’ll also study theories and techniques of managing,
motivating, and leading others. Finally, you’ll examine social responsibility, ethics, communication, and
other challenges and issues managers face. By the time you finish, you’ll be able to effectively use theories of
leadership and motivation to manage others."
"AMERICAN HISTORY I
In this course, you’ll get a broad overview of American History from New World exploration and settlement
through the Civil War. You’ll begin by studying major early civilizations on the continent, but before long
will find yourself examining the differences between the various American colonies and the challenges faced
by this growing, diverse society, like the American Revolution and the new U.S. Constitution. You’ll finish by
studying America before and after the Civil War: the division between the North and the South, the effect of
national expansion and reform, and the impact of various inequalities on American society."
