I can see that you are rolling through the tests. Are you naturally brilliant or did you do a ton of studying on everything before starting the tests?

Let's say both I bought cheap used editions of all the recommended texts I thought I'd need, but I've ended up relying more on Free CLEP Prep and wikipedia. I've only just gotten the hang of the instantcert cards yesterday and think I'll be making those my main review for the rest of the upper level Social Science DSSTs.

Well, I just got my acceptance email from TESC. Nothing in it about how to submit my transcript and other items for evaluation. I am guessing that I will get something via snail mail about that. However, I am happy to send it off ASAP if someone can tell me where to send it.
Thanks.

You have to order transcripts directly from the source of your credits, usually a school will have a form online under their student services. The address to send them to is:
Office of the Registrar
Thomas Edison State College
101 West State Street
Trenton, NJ 08608-1176

Actually that is not the only method.
Link states:
Quote:Transcripts sent to Thomas Edison State College that have been sent first to an applicant from the institution(s) they attended must arrive at Thomas Edison State College in the unopened, sealed envelope from the institution (or institutions) they attended. Applicants may not open their transcripts. Transcripts that arrive at Thomas Edison State College in opened envelopes are not valid and must be resubmitted.
Going back to find this, of course, led me to the address you provided.
Thanks for the reply!

mrs.b Wrote:You can CLEP, DSST, and TECEP your way through all but ONE class. You must take at least one class, so you can get a TESC GPA. They'll accept transfer credits galore, but you must have at least a 2.0 GPA with them, and transfer credits do not count towards your TESC GPA. The only way to get it is to take a class with them (online or guided study...not TECEP, e-Pack, PLA, etc).
So...pay the $75 application fee, get your evaluation, spend a few weeks or months testing out of everything your evaluation says you need except one course. Then, before your six month window of applicant / evaluation window expires, enroll in and begin that one or more course(es). At that point, you'll be considered an enrolled student, and when your course is complete and passed with a 2.0 or better GPA, you'll be eligible to graduate.
Mrs.b .. you don't need to take a course at Thomas Edison. You need to take at least one course at excelsior or charter oak state college.

Are you saying that TESC will give GPA based on an Excelsior or COSC class?

in order to graduate from TESC you don't need to take any courses there. you will not have a GPA if you do this option.
if you're at excelsior or Charter Oak you have to take at least one course to receive your BA degree.

Yes, I misspoke - sorry about that! Laceylady clarified a little earlier in the thread. She said:
"You do not have to take a course at TESC, unless you want a GPA. Others on this board have graduated from TESC without a GPA with no problem. If you do take a course at TESC, the GPA has to be at least a 2.0 or you can't graduate."
I think the requirement to earn a GPA is what stuck in my head as it being a requirement (I guess it is not a requirement to graduate, but it stuck with me since it is a good idea). For employers that request transcripts - a practice becoming more common in the extremely competitive job market - GPA is often used as a ranking system in the first "toss or keep" round to sort through the influx of resumes/applications.
