Help w/degree plan for BSBA @ TESC
#1
Hi All - First time poster. Thanks in advance for help. I'm trying to help my hubby put together a degree plan to finally get his bachelors. He has past credit (off & on & some from 10+ years ago) that's scattered so he'd really like to make as much of it count as possible so he can finish his degree as quick as he can. Hoping to test out of as much as possible too so he can work quickly (and cheaply). I know there are a lot of different options but given his interests and his past credits we're not sure if a BSBA or a History degree are going to be best route. Open to both (or something else you might suggest).

Below are existing credits he has. Crapper that all were through a school on the quarter system at the time so I'm really scratching my head at how they will transfer in. That's really where we could use this forum's help!!! (everything listed below has already been converted into semester hours ... he earned the hours at Univ of Cincinnati who has since converted to semesters so the transcript shows semester hours) - just sucks most classes are in increments of just 2hrs & not 3hrs):

Anth 101 - Cultural Anthropology (2hrs)
Bio 108 - Biology in the Human Context (3.3 hrs)
Comm 171 - Public Speaking (2 hrs)
Edfn (education fundamentals) 131 - Science, Technology, and Professional Development (2.7 hrs)
Eng 101 - freshman english (2 hrs)
Eng 102 - English Comp 2 (2 hrs)
Geol 101 - Intro to geology (2 hrs)
Geol 102 - Intro to geology (2 hrs)
Geology 103 - Intro to Geology (2 hrs)
Hist 110 - Am history to 1820 (2 hrs)
Hist 112 - Am history since 1920 (2 hrs)
Hist 111 - Am History 1820 - 1920 (2 hrs)
Hist 114 - European Civilization 1500 - 1800 (2 hrs)
Hist 113 - European Civilization 1000 - 1500 (2 hrs)
Hist 115 - European Civilization 1800-pre (2 hrs)
Hist 300 - Introl to History (2 hrs)
Math 155 - Topics in Math (2 hrs)
Math 156 - Topics in Math (2 hrs)
Math 157 - Topics in Math (2 hrs)
Psyc 101 - Intro to Psychology (2 hrs)
Psyc 102 - Intro to Psychology (2 hrs)
Psyc 103 - Intro to Psychology (2 hrs)
Psyc 110 - Human Sexuality (2 hrs)
Soc 141 - Intro to Sociology (2 hrs)
Soc 142 - Intro to Sociology 2 (2 hrs)

Total - 52 hours

Thanks so much in advance. Really looking forward to any help from all the experts on here.

Were the courses originally 4 quarter hours? Normally, courses on the quarter system are 4 credits (more with labs). When they are transferred to a school on the semester system, they are 2.67 hours. Either way, his degree evaluation is going to be a mess to deal with. All I can tell you is that, if TESC gives them 2.67 credits, they will use the individual courses to fulfill individual requirements, but the leftover credits have to be made up somewhere else so that the degree totals 120 semester hours.

By the way, this assumes that Topics in Math would be transcripted as College Mathematics (MAT-102/103) for 6 hours.
Also, if he were to take the SL/TECEP for English Composition II, he *might* not have to take that Intermediate Algebra class, since he would have 7 hours instead of 6. Instead, he could move that Intro to History class up into General Ed electives and fill in free electives with 2 more FEMA. Then again, TESC might just count that extra hour as duplicate credit.
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits
