If I transfer to TESC, will I have to contact the CollegeBoard and get the CLEP transcripts sent over seperately or will them being shown on my current trancript suffice?
When your college sends the official transcript it will most likely not include the courses (even though and unofficial one or a degree audit might). TESC requires official transcripts from every source of credit so you may end up with several transcripts which may include: Prior College, CLEP, Prometric (DSST), ACE Credit, and/or military transcripts.
Here is the official statement from the TESC website (
http://www.tesc.edu/admissions/Apply-Undergrad.cfm):
-If you have attended college in the past, submit official copies of transcripts. Thomas Edison State College accepts up to 80 credits earned at regionally accredited community colleges and up to 120 credits earned at regionally accredited four-year institutions. Send transcripts from all the colleges and/or universities you have attended. These transcripts must be sent directly from the institutions to the Office of the Registrar in unopened sealed envelopes with signatures across the seals.
-If you have earned any U.S. licenses and certifications, please submit them. We will need a notarized copy of the license or certificate and a current renewal card, if appropriate. View licenses and certifications that have approved for college credit.
-If you have completed professional training programs through industry, government or special organizations, please submit transcripts of them. We accept credits for programs that have been evaluated by the American Council on Educationâs College Credit Recommendation Service.
Official transcripts are available through:
The American Council on Education
Registry of Credit Recommendations
One Dupont Circle, NW
Suite 250
Washington, DC 20036-1193
(202) 939-9434
-If you have taken college-level examinations for the purposes of obtaining credit, submit official score reports. These must be sent directly from The College Board (CLEP, DANTES, AP Exams) or other official reporting agency.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.
