Getting CLEP resuts to school
#1
Hi,

I am about to take the first of several planned CLEP tests. I would like to know how does the school get the scores after I take the test? Do I need to consolidate them on an ACE transcript, or better yet is there a free way for the school to have access to these results. The physical school I am enrolled in is about 2 hours away from my home in northern NJ, although I could take the test in a certified test center. There are at least 5 different universities or colleges which offer the test within 10 miles of my home.

I could also go to the main campus of my university 2 hours away, although I really don't want to do that (car is not reliable). I plan to take 4 tests.

I checked other threads, and frankly did come away with a clear succinct answer.

Thank you in advance.

If you already are sure of your target college, when you go to the CLEP exam, you'll have the option during the sign-in screen to select your target school. You can also choose not to send them anywhere - the WAY they get to your school will be either from you choosing it during your sign-in process or, later, when you're finished testing all your exams, you will request 1 CLEP transcript from College Board to send to your target school. The process is free if you do it during your sign in, but it's a fee if you do it later- I think it's about $40 if you wait (not per exam, one transcript with all your scores).
Failed scores are not recorded on your transcript.

Worth mentioning, WHERE you test means nothing. Even if you took the exam at your home college, your score can only be shared through one of the 2 methods above. Good luck!

Thank you Jennifer for the very clear answer, and thank you for the well wishes.
