1. They provided me a College Algebra class formated in such a way that I could complete it quickly and get my degree.
2. While others are entering the market, often with great products, Straighterline is still a value leader with courses that can be completed quickly and cheaply.
3. Straighterline regularly offers BOGO and other discounts to make access even easier.

I might be using them in the near future, depending on what I decide on doing now that my BA Psych is completed. I've heard nothing but good things about them, and the pricing structure is pretty decent (particularly if you're one of the folks that can speed through classes quickly). I'm also a fan of how they don't tolerate cheaters

I completed 16 courses (61 credits!) through SL, because they allowed me to go at my own pace, with a simple format and no busy work. I recommend them highly to anyone who can use their credits.
It is by far my preferred source of credit due to the cost and ease of use.

Using SL allowed me to complete 24 credits for a reasonable cost (which would have been especially good if I had known about their textbook bundle courses). Taking the SL courses was a huge encouragement to me after I spent 3 years slogging through CC busywork for 12 week semesters & full summer courses just to get a measly 3 LL credits.
I loved that I could work at my own pace while tracking my progress & grades, and even rewarded myself after taking classes I needed but wasn't particularly interested in, by taking the classes I wanted to take, even if I didn't "need" them for my BA plan.

A few more things I <3 about SL:
- Free copies of transcripts sent directly to college(s) and/or self upon request
- Super fast & polite (and usually accurate) CS response to just about any questions or issues I expressed -- by submitted ticket, chat, email, or phone
- Lightening speed approval of requested ACE credits [when applicable]
- [Some] open book exams. I study a lot, even for alternative credit courses (including taking notes & printing out flashcards), but still stress about finals. I so much appreciated that an open book final helped lower my stress level during the proctored exam -- and it certainly didn't cause me to get any 100% scores, lol.

I lost power for a few hours during a mid-term exam. SL reset the exam upon request, allowing me to retake it immediately. Contrast that with an experience I had at a state university when the website crashed in the middle of the final exam. It took weeks and I had to provide proof that the website crashed. It took weeks of uncertainty.
... now that I think of it, maybe I should look into paper testing in a proctored environment...

WHAT THE.....?????? Did I just travel to some alternate dimension or something? Two of the most respected DFers just posting a random love note to straighterline? Please tell me you guys weren't paid for this. Please tell me this is a hack.
Straighterline to me seems like a super easy way to cheat your way to a degree. At least in the fact that most courses can be completed without really knowing a single thing about the subject. Although a few of them you can't cheat your way out of, most are just CTRL+F the answer in your ebook and get 90s on the early work so you only have to score a 30 on the proctored final.
I'm not trying to turn this into a SL vs CLEP vs B&M debate. My real point is this seemed really out of character.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

1. Staff is off the charts at Straighterline. Know this stuff and always really friendly.
2. Course structure, credit options & ace transfer is excellent.
3. Ability to do it all from home through them.
