Question about transfer credits to TESC
#11
I know which ones are UL at TESC, but since I'm out of state, they're expensive and I don't think I could finish them all plus the capstone in a year, that's why I'm looking elsewhere for open enrollment classes that can transfer. Some of the classes I have on my list:

Survey of Women and Literature (ENGL 3593) at LSU

Mythology (ENG 359) at Adams

Advanced Composition (ENG 363) at Adams

Rediscovering the Fairy Tale (ENG 370) (Women Writers of Science Fiction looked interesting too) at CSU

Intro to Fiction Writing (Writing the Short Story) (351) at WWU

Creative Writing (Advanced Fiction Writing) (451) at WWU

I did look at the BYU classes, but wasn't that interested in them. I already have 9 credits in my area of study finished: the A&I CLEP and the overage from that in the electives and Technical Writing (DSST in electives). I'm planning to take Non-Western Lit at TESC. The only class on my list that I'm sure will go in UL is the Advanced Composition. Advanced Fiction Writing has a good chance too, but I'm not sure. The others I really have no idea at all.

For a general idea on how courses can be transferred/evaluated, go to PLA Database Search Thomas Edison State College: Course Offerings type in to the search bar titles of the courses, or course descriptions. I typed in ENG- and then literature and it lists the courses in those areas. FYI, if a course is specific to certain area it would be under that descriptor (ex CHI-, REL-).

Survey of Women and Literature (ENGL 3593) at LSU Women in Literature (LIT-323)

Mythology (ENG 359) at Adams Classical Mythology (ENG-346)

Advanced Composition (ENG 363) at Adams Advanced Composition (ENG-312)

Rediscovering the Fairy Tale (ENG 370) could not find anything for fairy tale specifically, the closest is Arthurian Romance (ENG-280). Women Writers of Science Fiction looked interesting too at CSU. Possible match Science Fiction (ENG-331)

Intro to Fiction Writing (Writing the Short Story) (351) at WWU Fiction Writing (ENG-231)

Creative Writing (Advanced Fiction Writing) (451) at WWU Advanced Fiction Writing (ENG-373)
