I was wondering, if I had enough classes for a degree, how many classes MUST have I take with Thomas Edison being active duty military from New Jersey?

Well if you doing are doing the Military Degree Completion Program than you have to take at least 18 hours for the BA, and 9 hours for the AA. This is what I remember from when I first enrolled, however I don't have the catalog with me so someone correct me if I am wrong. Remeber, that it has to be hours, not just classes. So if you take TECEP's, and any other TESC credit granting stuff then they apply. Better safe than sorry you can check with an advisor.

I am always surprised to see how few people take this test TESC gives upper level credit and it is not an unreasonable test. I used a book on tape to help study after I took the test my library finally had the PBS series in and I rented it alot of information was on that series.

If you enroll as a normal student in their business program you only have to take one class, Managerial Communications. It was very doable. Hope this helps.

What's the differences between entering as a normal student compared to military? I would like to enter the school taking the least amount of credits as possible since I have almost 200 from cleps/dantes, classes and traditional college.

If you enroll as a traditional student you have to pay the $2300 annual tuition. The military plan does not require that but they do require that you take a certain number of classes at TESC(something like 8 classes). If you are really close, you need to see whick way costs the least.
Atleast this is my understanding of how it works. I am not currently enrolled there so I could be off base. Hope it helps though.

Sounds good, thank you. Well I don't mind taking classes it's just they are 4 month long classes and I want to finish up my degree within the year. I guess I could take some TESC tests but don't know how hard they are.

For the MDCP, you need to take 12 credits with TESC to avoid paying any kind of tuition. The 12 credits can be either classes, guided study, PLA, e-packs, or TECEPS.
It's basically TESC's way of getting their money's worth. I'm in the same boat as you.

Well Maybe I should look into that then, since EC will not count ECE exams toward a MDCP, and they are including teceps ?

Yep. It's every kind of TESC credit. Here's what's on my degree audit:
Students in the Military Degree Completion Program must complete a residency requirement. Students must earn six (6) semester hours of Thomas Edison State College credit toward an associate degree and twelve (12) semester hours of Thomas Edison State College credit toward a baccalaureate degree. These credits must be applied towards the student's degree requirements. Thomas Edison State College credit includes: Guided Study/Online/Blended/e-Pack courses, TECEP exams and/or Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
