This website changed my life. I went from NOTHING to AAS, BS, MS, CISSP, in < 3 years
#1
I'll be honest. I found this website while deciding whether or not to buy a degree from a paper mill.

I was desperate, I was desolate. I was stuck professionally. I was disgusted with the disconnect between my intellect and the paper to prove how smart and talented I knew I was inside. I tried to enroll in a community college and they told me I had to start over from scratch as all of my credits (60 credits) were from a "nationally accredited school".

When I stumbled upon this website, I read and stalked posts all night like a mad man. A fire was lit in my MIND. It was better than TV. There were so many people, just like me, smart, capable but disgusted just like me and ready to GO.

After reading and looking through everything, I was still doubtful, but I began. In September of 2012, I had 18 usable credits. I used Sept to map my entire AAS/BS plan and set a start date for Oct. 1. In the month of Oct, I started and finished 13 classes on straighterline.com for a total of 39 credits.

On Nov 1st... I was juiced. JUICED!!! I had just finished 1.3 years of college in 1 month. At that point I started on my CLEPs and began the process of enrolling in TESC (I love them).

I told several friends in IT who were in the same position as me. (Lame job, no degree, ton of experience, low wages.) They laughed, called it a scam, said they heard about it already... ultimately - NO ONE I TOLD WAS INTERESTED. To this date, I've told over 100 people and not 1 has been motivated enough to do a damn thing. <sigh>

Anyway, its real. Its awesome, unbelievable and life changing. I just wanted to come here and say thanks to all the people that made my success possible.

Thank you folks, thank you admins, thank you lurkers, thank you selfless and tireless helpers. This website changed my life and I'm going to keep explaining the process until I change someone else's life too.

I'm happy for you. I am close to being done with my degree, and have excitedly shared with people what I've done, and while some expressed an interest (including a good friend who is BADLY in need/want of a job change), exactly ONE has taken me up on my help (he took the Biology & Chemistry CLEP exams to try to get some requirements for med school out of the way).

While I can't figure out the people that complain about their lives, but then don't do anything to change them (including taking FREE courses online), if they decide they need a change, they know where to come!

Congrats on finding what you wanted and needed and doing the work to get it.

I have also spoken to more people than I can count about this site and TESC and CEB etc. As far as I know not one person has even bothered to check this site, including my own children. I get frustrated but I keep talking about it maybe someday I can get somebody to listen.

Congrats....I feel the same way about this site and it's inhabitants. But you, and I and everyone here had the wherewithal to do something with the knowledge we found here. Not everyone is capable of that. It is our core competency.

you are 100% absolutely correct! I no longer "tell everyone" just the people who are interested. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations! You'll get those people who claim to be hiring managers or in HR who will tell you that a resume or application with that kind of degree on it will get thrown in the trash. The truth is that the Big 3 will be treated just like any other little-known school. They work fine as check-the-box degrees and can even get you admitted into traditional, graduate programs.
