Think I'm Going For Associate in Arts (general studies) at TESC

So glad I found this forum.

Have 21 credits so far, but just took CLEP Composition. If I pass that (I'd be shocked if I didn't), there's another 6. Then I have Substance Abuse DSST on the 21st scheduled and A&I Literature on the 28th. A&I seems especially easy.

If I pass all those, 30 credits in ~5 weeks, plus the 6 I already had for 36. Amazing.

In the meantime, I'm going to start on my math requirements through ALEKS. Math is one thing I don't trust myself to self-study as well as other subjects, so I think the tutoring format will work well for me.

I think my mid-2012 goal of an AA is more than realistic. My next challenge for myself will be to complete a BS/BA within a year of the TESC enrollment fee, which I will probably do in April or May. I would say that would get me the most bang for my buck? 1 year tuition for 2 degrees? 60+ test credits in 12 months will definitely be a challenge.

Quite a few others have done a 1-year degree. It's doable. Not that it's easy but doable.

If I were you I would concentrate on completing the business core macro, micro, stats, management, marketing, accounting 1&2, comp applications (done), financial mgmt and see where that takes you. Those are the most important courses for business and are prereqs for a BSBA or for entry into an MBA.

Definitely. I'm going to take macro/micro after my next set of tests. I figure that's a good way to fulfill the rest of my social sciences. I'm also going to try and take the Straighterline course for business communications as that'll work for my AA, but also good for a BSBA.

The BSBA in General Management is appealing. I may prefer Marketing over that, if it doesn't entail too many full classes - as I work in marketing. Looking at it, I'm trying to figure out what can't be tested out. Thomas Edison State College | BSBA in Marketing Credit Distribution

It looks like the marketing elective courses have 15 credits worth of TESC tests. I'm guessing there's no test for Marketing Research as I haven't seen that anywhere.

Thanks, still wondering what classes under Marketing can't be tested out of. I'll see if I can find a plan, if not - I'll start another thread later on.

Btw, is ALEKS Intermediate Algebra the easiest way to earn the math credit? It seems to be from my research. I'm not big on math.

For most of the liberal arts, intermediate algebra is the lowest. For business administration, precalculus or quantitative analysis is required.
