I'm late to the thread, but I want to be in the movie too!!! I want to be played by Angelina Jolie.. not because of her looks, but because she is a world traveler with a ton of kids. I can definitely relate to that.

I have been reading Steve's posts for years and enjoy his wit, his biting sarcasm and his extensive knowledge of many topics, e.g. musical theatre and Yiddish slang - both subjects dear to me, as well.
My occasional discussions with him in the fora have nearly always centred on non-academic matters, as I know better than to argue with him about schools or anything with wheels.
Steve is a complex individual, who would have to be portrayed in the "Degree Movie" by an equally complex actor.
Ideally, I'd have liked the part to go to the always-brilliant Philip Seymour Hoffman, but unfortunately, he is no longer with us. Perhaps, although Steve is American, a classic English actor could do the role justice. Jeremy Irons, maybe?
