The Big 3 and USA jobs
#1
I am just starting out with earning credits to get a BSBA. My goal is to be eligible for a government job. Most job posts through USA Jobs requires you to upload your transcripts if applying based on education (which is a requirement for the job I'm earning this degree for). From what I have read on here, if you transfer most or all of your credits to one of the big 3, you don't really have a transcript. Is that correct? Anyone have any experience with this? Thank you!

You still have a transcript. Your transcript will show transfer credit (the institution it came from and the grade) but this will not be factored into the big 3's GPA.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

Road traveled: AA (2013) > BS (2014) > MS (2016) > Doctorate (2024)

My Excelsior transcript looks no different from my transcript from the brick and mortar schools I attended; matter of fact transfer credit is structured the same exact way.

At Excelsior transfer credit is calculated into your overall GPA on your transcript.

Similar question and didn't want to create a thread. When one applies to grad school having used various alternative credit sources, do they have to request official, sealed transcripts from each place? For me it would be 7 different places; CLEP, DSST, ALEKS, Straighterline, Excelsior, Cooper Career Consulting, UExcel.

And would it be smart/applicable to use Excelsior program of merging credits to one transcript?
Excelsior - Bachelors Of Science in General Business - Complete 2016
CMA - Complete 2019
MBA In Finance - Louisiana State University Shreveport - Complete 2020

I have 17 different places I took courses Smile You have to send them all if they ask. My grad program took just my Excelsior transcript, so I got lucky.

I am a current federal employee. You only need to send them the transcript for the school you graduated from and you need only to post an unofficial transcript on USA jobs. IF you get a job offer, you have to THEN provide a copy of your official transcript. I never had to send a thousand transcripts from all my institutions, CLEP, etc.

I graduated from TESC and got a normal transcript. It showed all my transferred credits and my TESC specific credits and the GPA for the TESC courses.

I hope this helps.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

In California, our school district for example, if you wanted to take a job that required a BA or be a sub teacher. You would send us your offical sealed transcript at the college, sent by the college to us (not brought to us by you) from you the college you graduated at where you got your BA since you need 120 credits. It'll show 120 credits either way wheater you transfered in credit or taken courses taken at the BA college. If it's from a regionally accredited college (which the big 3 all are) then you're fine. The transcript is to show you actually went, didn't make it up on your application, and the offical transcript is to show you haven't changed anything on your trasncript (ie whited out that F or something).

Run on sentences...I know lol.
