Newbie - Big Three
#1
Bon Giorno:
Compliments, excellent forum. I am going back to college after 25 years to get my B.A. in Liberal Arts. I applied to COSC, TESC and EC. My decision will depend on which college will give me the most units probably. COSC accepted already 62 units, and I hope TESC or EC will give me even more. My future goal is eventually getting my Masters in social work. I have to figure out soon which one of the big three is best suited for that. I have the impression it really doesn't matter which one of the big three I choose, e.g. even if I receive more credits by TESC the admission is more expensive than by COSC. It looks like it could only be a win - win situation. Am I wrong?
Thanks for your input and passion.

One possible advantage of Excelsior College (depending on the credits you've earned so far) is that you can earn up to 30 credits and complete the requirements for a major by passing a GRE subject exam with a high enough score. I recently did this with the GRE Psychology exam. If you want to earn a Master of Social Work degree, you may end up taking the GRE Psychology at some point anyway, so why not get credit for it?

The other Excelsior advantage is that you get grades for DSSTs and ECEs which count toward your GPA. This may be important to you if you want to get into a graduate program.
