Tesc site

It appears that the site has taken down what CLEP and DSST test fit what classes. This is a shame as been valuable to me in trying to plan my degree still. I'm currently deployed and hoping to at least knock out the SOCIOLOGY CLEP while here if nothing else and maybe more. Does anyone stilll have or know how to access that link or does it now take emailing TESC to find out all this information?

My guess is that they are going to update to the new ACE recommendations as of the new year. The college catalog still has the old info (which may or may not be true anymore). My guess is that the Sociology CLEP won't be impacted.

I could understand that, but aren't most CLEP and DSST test under a 3 year window or so?

Yes but search the site. There were some major changes a little while back and TESC hasn't caught up yet. Well - maybe they have now.

Look for: **ALERT** 8 CLEP exams downgraded

There were also several DSSTs that were set to expire on 2015-12-31. Most of them have been extended but perhaps not all.

I see. Just trying to map out what I can do here. Under the General Managament from the 2015 catalog I still need all 3 from Social Responsibility. I know one of these is Sociology which I can either CLEP or SL. I know another is Ethics which apparently the DSST no longer fulfills this requirement just the CLEP I guess. I also need another one and am assuming maybe the Marriage TECEP but who knows. The whole process is so overwhelming and while I'm stuck in the dust others have started and finished and I'm still trying to start. Maybe I need to just call these guys and get a detailed plan.

The American Government CLEP fit in this category for me. along with CLEP Sociology and DSST Business Ethics.
If I were you, I would save your planning for a couple of weeks and wait for whatever new updates TESC posts.

If you're thinking of calling TESC to get that detailed plan, you're out of luck. They are not helpful when it comes to testing out questions. If you ask specifically "will the Sociology CLEP fulfill the Personal Responsibility area?", they will answer. But if you say "can you tell me all of the CLEP and DSST exams I can take to fulfill all of the areas, they will not be helpful.

The Sociology CLEP will work in the first slot.

There are 2 DSST's that used to fulfill Ethics; Ethics in America or Business Ethics & Society. If you would rather take Business Ethics instead of Ethics in America, I would call TESC and see what they say, there may have been a change recently. There's always the option of SL's Business Ethics as well.

The Marriage TECEP will fulfill the 3rd slot in the Personal & Social Responsibility area. Anthropology (SL), World History (TECEP), Intro to Comparative Politics (TECEP), Psychology of Women (TECEP), World Religions (DSST, SL or Sophia), Cultural Diversity (UExcel), and Environmental Ethics (TECEP) will all work here as well. I think the Human/Cultural Geography DSST may fit as well, you'd need to double-check with TESC.

I gave them a list of the tests I took for my degree when we filmed the spot. Their Communications Director, Joe was interested in it...his enthusiasm about transferring credits in combined with that list on TESC's site makes me think they plan on using this as a way of promoting TESU moving forward.
