TESC Liberal Studies degree plan review requested
#1
Please review this TESC Liberal Studies degree plan. All of the TESC course numbers have been completed through CLEP and DSST tests. The other courses are community college and university courses that will be transfer credits. Are the general studies electives valid?

I'm hoping that only the capstone remains. I've counted a surplus of 3 hours in the general electives category.

It looks like you are missing an ethics class. I believe Gen Ed section B requires 3 credits of ethics. PHI 287 might satisfy that requirement but would have to be moved from your liberal studies courses section. BUS 302 may also satisfy the requirement. One challenge is having the 15 credits of UL electives for the liberal studies area and no more than 2 courses at the 100 level. The transfer credits can sometimes be tricky since each college classifies classes differently. If needed you could probably use REL 405 as UL elective for liberal studies area and move LIT 291 into the Gen Ed section for information literacy.

Thank you, I moved the ethics course to General Education Section B. But I'm not sure if it will work because the course number doesn't match this list found at http://www.tesc.edu/academics/courses/20...-After.cfm If only these exact courses are acceptable, it makes testing out of a degree difficult with ETH-210 as the only testing option for Section B.

• ETH-210: Environmental Ethics This is only offered as a TECEP exam
• LIB-360: Ethics and Politics of War
• PHI-286: Contemporary Ethics Humanities
• PHI-384: Ethics and the Business Professional
• PHI-475: Biomedical Ethics
• SOS-450: Ethics in the Social Sciences

I don't see what it wrong with the liberal studies section. There are only two courses at the 100 level. There are 21 UL credits in the liberal studies area.

What is the most economical way to get the degree at this point, essentially almost at the end of the process. Pay per credit?

Thanks. For someone at the end of the degree process where additional tests aren't needed, $4168 isn't so bad. If a different ethics course is required - that's still not clear - it would still come out to just under $5,000.

I believe the TECEP price is wrong. I thought I read that the $50 per credit is for non-matriculated exam takers and $37 is for matriculated-students.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.
