Tesc & Penn Foster Courses
#1
Does anyone know for certain if TESC will accept courses and grant credit for classes taken through PENN FOSTER COLLEGE?

I was thinking about going through Penn Foster to take some courses such as Managerial Accounting but I don't want to do that if Thomas Edison State College doesn't accept courses from Penn Foster.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

My understanding is that as long as the course has been reviewed on the ACE site they will grant credit. Check ACENET to see if that specific course is listed.

They take PFC's Tech Math I for sure (ACE # ICS-0134). I confirmed it with Enrollment today (I'm using it for my Math requirement), and I'm in the B.A. in English program.
I'm done!

I'm not very familiar with TESC's policies. I would say as long as it is ACE reviewed *and* applies to the program, it should be alright. Excerpt from their Undergraduate Program Planning Handbook:

"Note: Credits earned at colleges and schools accredited by national accrediting associations will NOT be accepted
in transfer by Thomas Edison State College, e.g., American Association of Bible Colleges (AABC), Accrediting
Councils for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).

Note: Some courses offered by schools/colleges accredited by national associations have been reviewed by the
American Council on Educationís (ACE) College Credit Recommendation Service and may be eligible for direct
credit award
. Please contact the Advisement Center, in writing, to determine if particular courses from these
schools/colleges have been reviewed."

Thanks to PatsGirl1 for confirming the possibility. I'd always get approval in writing, just as mentioned in their handbook.
