On the thread "TESC CLEP Policy for anyone interested" it was noted CLEP Principles of Accounting is listed as not accepted by TESC. Would it be possible for someone enrolled with TESC to check on this. My son is studying for this exam for his BSBA from TESC.
Many Thanks!

According to the Clep website:
This exam will no longer be available after June 30, 2007. It will be replaced by CLEP Financial Accounting.

Here is the way I understand it:
As Farmerboy noted, the CLEP Principles of Accounting is no longer available to take anywhere. It has been retired and replaced with the CLEP Financial Accounting which debuted in January 2007. Normally, most colleges only grant 3 credit hours for Financial Accounting because it is a one-semester course. However, according to the CollegeBoard website, Thomas Edison grants 6 credits for this one. So, I think Principles of Accounting has simply been replaced by Financial Accounting.

ClLEP Accounting is now only 3 credits. The Principles of Accounting CLEP was 6 credits and ended June 30, 2007. I hope they would still give 6 credits for the old one. The new CLEP should get 3 credits only.

I believe they still grant 6 credits for the old one but the new one is only worth 3. College Board's website is not updated very often!

The 2008-2009 TESC catalog lists this as 6 credits, but an adviser e-mail said it would only be 3 for me. I transferred 2 B&M Acct classes (3 Qrt/2 Sem credits ea) for 4 of 6 credits needed for TESC BSBA . She said I would get 1 extra credit to use elsewhere. So I'm not sure how they count this YET, but I will get a definitive answer very soon.
Thanks, Greg
