I am scheduled to take Tech 201 (Calculus 1) in the Summer 2 8 week semester. Has any one taken this course before? If so, what is the course like? Should I invest in one of those fancy graphing calculators? What are the discussions like as I find it hard to wrap my head around discussions in a Math class.

Check the syllabus for what calculator they recommend/permit. Honestly, you can usually do any calculations you would need using free smartphone apps or computer programs, however that will almost never be permitted for proctored exams.
