Teaching Masters degree
#1
Been a while since I have been on so hello to many of you.
Question is there any online colleges anyone can recommend that offer a Masters in Education degree that works towards license for teaching? For High school or Elementary? I was looking at WGU but they are not RA accredited. Anyone have experience with WGU?

thanks

Hi and welcome back to the forum.

WGU is where I am planning to get my MAT they are RA and NA by DETC. they also just won some awards for their program.

Western Governors University is nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). WGU is also regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, one of the major accrediting commissions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

The University of Southern California has an online MAT program:

Master of Arts in Teaching | Masters Teaching | MAT @ USC

A little on the expensive side though...

I'm not sure where you got your information, but WGU IS accredited. They are accredited by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (an RA), DETC (National), and National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). WGU is the only all online school that can give teacher credentials.

Is there anything near where you live? Do you live in FL now? Does FL have alternative entry programs? I know they do where I live. You can actually get a license after your BA.
