Taking the College mathematics Clep in about two weeks -_-
#1
Hi All Big Grin im taking the college mathematics clep in about three weeks, and im pretty much freaking out -_- i've been studying for nearly 3 months about 5 to 9 hours a day, three textbooks, Introductory algebra, college mathematics (logic/sets ect), and a college algebra book. i've been using instacert, interact math which has just about ever peterson math textbook practice problems possible, and REA tests/study guide. after all this im still freaking out, chewing my nails and finally starting to dream about functions at night and all kinds of numbers. has anyone else gone through this type of stress? i have terrible math anxiety i mean my heart rate increases, i sweat, its terrible. is their any advice on how difficult the exam really is? the only problems im running into are complex numbers.

thank you Smile

Hello.
I just took the College Mathematics CLEP a week ago. It was challenging, but definitely doable. I got a 63/80. I am by no means an advanced math student. In fact, I am an English teacher. I have not thought about math since high school. At any rate, I went through the topics listed on the free study guide you can get on collegeboard's website, and I felt like I had a handle on what was asked of me. Go through the practice test too. The one thing I will say is that 90 minutes goes fast. I definitely worked up to the last second, so get used to working quickly. The calculator is a little tricky, since it is on the computer, but it's nice that it is there.

I did not prepare nearly as much as you have done so far, so I am sure you'll do great.

njshort, thank you for replying Smile this makes me feel alot better, i've also been taking the rea, practice tests online timed and everything, just to somewhat prepare myself and manage time. im thinking the best possible way is just hitting the hanging low apples first, getting through everything i know, then saving the harder ones for last. was the calculator available at all times? & thanks i hope i do great Smile

I only used only IC and passed. One thing I would like to mention is my school only gave me 6 elective credits. I got nothing for math, so verify that with your school.
