Taking the Biology CLEP soon! Need advice!
#1
I am scheduled to take the Biology CLEP next week and am concerned about my readiness. I passed the REA practice tests with 80%; however, I only got 52% correct on the practice test from the CLEP study guide. Are the REA practice tests not an accurate guide to readiness? I will be taking the Petersons practice test this weekend, but I am nervous now that I may not be ready to sit for the actual exam. Any info or advice would be appreciated.

Don't be nervous. I was also very tensed before taking the exam. But, looking at your score I would say you will definitely pass the exam. Rea exam is easier than the actual CLEP. but tge study guide questions from college board website are the exact same pattern of questions asked in exam. Few questions are lengthy, so practice to spped up. Also study, each and every aspect of study guide, like the questions and their correct answers, and also search for the other options on wikipedia. Like, what the incorrect answer options actually mean. Good luck I am sure you will make it. Be confident.

On iTunes U, there is a free UC Berkley course on Bio 1a and 1b. I watched the whole course then went over the IC cards 1 time and I got a 59. But I delayed taking the test for over a month due to scheduling. It was an interesting course and you can skip to parts you need clarification on easily. If i were to do it over i would review IC first several times, and just use the iTunes course for filler.

It's said that biology is one of the hardest tests. I'm no good at the subject, and I passed it on my first try with a 56. I used IC but I also used that Exam Busters flashcard set on Kindle (well worth it) and Khan Academy. It's tough but managable. There's a lot of vocabulary. Also, you MUST go through the Peterson's tests. These will save you on this exam. I had more than a few questions directly from the Petersons tests on my CLEP.

You can do it, just try,.
