TESU enrollment question
#1
Hi everyone, I had enrolled in TESU last year but i am not in a financial position to continue at this time. I hadn't taken any courses thru them, i had just transferred my ACE credit. I think in order to stay enrolled i would have had to take a class or TECEP, which i did not. I am worried that they might automatically bill me for another year, does anyone know how to withdraw or whether they charge you for anything if you simply don't re-enroll?

They never bill you automatically. Your application will be active for a year from when you did it. After that, you will be required to reapply if you want to start taking courses and will have to use the new catalog for that year. If you wish to keep your current catalog, you have to become enrolled and maintain enrollment. To do that, take a TECEP ($114) or course before that first year is up, and at least once a year after that.

Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)

As davewill said, there is no cost to you to "enroll" at TESU, except to take a TECEP. There are no annual or per-term fees like at EC or COSC. If you can't do it, your enrollment just lapses, and you start the application/enrollment process all over again when you're ready to.

The major risk you take is if there are changes to the catalog. If you don't have a lot of credits already under your belt, or mostly Gen Ed's, then you're probably fine. Stay on the forum to see about any future changes, as we post about it when they happen.

You can pay for a TECEP now for $117, gain 3 credits and keep your program locked in or come back later and pay another $75 for the application fee, gain nothing and risk a completely new program plan.  If you can squeeze out the $117 for a TECEP now (before your current active status ends) the money would be an excellent investment in you and your future.

The only real concern with the TECEP approach is finding one that you're confident you can pass. Ideally, it should also be in a subject that would be usable in your degree plan as well.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a question. If I was to apply for the $75, how long until I need to take a test? And how often would I need to take a test?

One year from application - then one a year to keep enrolled (just have to take it before the year ends).  And you don't have to pass the TECEP to stay enrolled (although that is always preferred!) you just have to take it.
