The only place they can put those aviation maintenance credits is in free electives, and there aren't many free elective credits allowed for the BSBA. TESU has a BSAST in Aviation Maintenance Technology.

You have a lot of courses which are considered "free electives." The BSBA, while convenient for some, isn't very flexible for anyone who already has a lot of credits in a non-business area. The BSBA only allows 6cr of Free Electives

You need to find a more applicable degree that will use your courses in the degree plan, or one that allows a LOT more free electives. Check out the BSAST in Technical Studies or one of the BSAST's in Aviation degrees, and also look at the extremely flexible BALS which allows 27cr of Free Electives. For both of these, you would not be able to test out completely (they have capstones), but it might be a faster (and even cheaper) option for you since you have so many unused credits (41cr at my count).

The only issue with the BSAST's is that you don't have any UL credits, so you would have to find those. With the BSAST TS, the easiest way would be technology courses (computers) if you had any interest there. You only need 2 UL courses, since Project Management and Current Trends & Applications (the capstone) are UL.

For any degree, you can log into MyEdison and run different degree plans and see what happens. Try different options and see if something better doesn't come up.

Good luck.

Well, as far as your ACE credit goes, it looks like they haven't added it to your evaluation yet (I got my eval in pieces, as they evaluated one or two transcripts at a time, instead of all at once). If you look at your credit sources, ACE isn't listed yet.

As far as getting more of your technical courses put into a degree plan - I would play around with the evaluation tool and look at a few different degree programs and see if there are any that work better for you. Keep in mind that being able to find sources of upper level credit is just as important as being able to apply lower division credit - ultimately, lower division credit is often cheap and easy to come by, while upper division credit can be both costly and hard to find for many degree plans.

The OP would only need to find 6 UL credits for the BSAST programs. Current Trends and Applications is the required capstone that has to be taken at TESU. Project Management can be taken through Sophia. So, those knock out 6 of the 12 UL credits.

It depends on the BSAST - the Technical Studies one is pretty flexible, but the Aviation ones are very specific, and would be hard to find any of those courses at all, let alone inexpensively. I'm wondering if he/she is able to take more courses through the military to get those UL courses if interested in one of these?

Aviation maintenance is actually pretty flexible if you have the required training. You need to have the FAA license or equivalent military training. The OP's credits don't translate well to the other aviation degrees. But, I was wrong. You need to find 9 UL credits for the aviation maintenance program; that's still not that bad.

It all depends on why the OP wants a degree. Why did the OP choose the BSBA? The liberal studies degree should only be earned by those who just need to check the box. Other than that, a liberal studies degree doesn't have much utility.

If you have your heart set on the BSBA, then it appears that you are going to lose credits. You have one course in the "Other" section that might apply to the BSBA: the Leadership Management course. This **might** fit with Business Electives.

One more thing: was the Military Studies class a history class by any chance? If so, it might transfer in as something for the Human Cultures requirement as HIS-199. If it wasn't a history class, then I don't think it will fit with the BSBA.

I wish I had better news for you, but it appears that some here have good suggestions regarding a different major. I wish you the best as you figure out which way to go.
BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).

Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.

Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.

Thank you for all your input!
At this stage of my life a BSBA will serve me better, if I was still on active duty any degree would have worked. All this means is I have to take a few more classes.
What threw me off was needing 20 GE electives according to TESU’s evaluation, once I started plugging in classes for a BSBA it became clear many electives will be filled with BSBA requirements.

Ah, no, afraid not. Courses don't do double duty at TESU - they only fit into one slot at a time. If a course is counted as a requirement, it will not also fulfill an elective credit requirement.
