TESU Tuition confusion
#1
Hi all,

long time lurker of the forum always thought that I wouldn't make up a thread and account until I had a pressing question that I couldn't find the answer too.

I currently have 96 credits to my name with ACE and I am ready to enroll in to the General Management program that TESU has, but was immediately haulted by the tuition, I figured that the Per-credit option would be the best choice but I saw the $499 price tag and my need to overthink kicked in, and the question I have is, will I have to pay that $499 for each 96 credits I have through the testing? or will that price tag only fall on the coruse/s I take through them? because I was figuring I would one and done the capstone and be done with it, but I would have to rethink everything if I have to pay out over 5 digits in cash.

if someone could enlighten me that would fantastic thank you

No you don't have to pay for your transfer credits, just the courses you take there. With the recent changes, you will have to take the $300 cornerstone course, the Capstone, pay your graduation fee, and the $2000 residency waiver
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

+1, you will be charged a cornerstone/capstone for non BSBA degrees, for the BSBA, you can do the capstone TECEP and the graduation fee/residency waiver.

You need a total of 120 credits, the 96 credits we don't know if they all transfer in or any duplicate/are lower level and not in area of study.
So, what would happen best is to transfer them all into TESU and get an evaluation telling you what you're missing for your degree plan.
Once you know the degree plan and what's missing, write back with the degree so we can map out the easiest/fastest way you can get it.

You can also post on here which courses/exams you've taken and we can help ahead of time, before or while you're applying. Include the course number, course name, # of credits, grade if less than a C (some D's may count so don't leave them out), and whether the school is a CC or 4-yr college.

Just to reiterate because it's a little confusing, you will pay:
1) The $75 application fee
2) The $114 TECEP fee for the Strategic Management capstone exam if you choose to take it that way (as opposed to the $1500 course)
3) Once you're ready to graduate, you will pay the $2000 residency waiver and the $323 graduation fee.

So the total you would have to pay to TESU for the BSBA is $2,512.

Just out of curiosity, does the $2000 residency waiver fee applies to those currently seeking a second degree, but who had met residency requirements with TECEP before the recent changes?

That's a good question. Since the Residency Waiver only lasts a year, I'm betting there's a time limit on the residency via TECEP. But that would be a good one to check.

Those who had already met the residency requirements by graduating and are seeking a second degree are grandfathered in and need not fulfill the residency requirement once again in any format.
Am pursuing a second degree and was advised to this effect.
