Anyone aware if the credit received for flight training(private, commercial, etc) is part of the 90 credits allowed to transfer in? I plan on talking with them next week but seeing if anyone happened to know. TIA

You can transfer in 114 credits to any one standard degree. The limit is 90 credits for one source. So no using study.com for an entire degree. There is also a limit of(I think) 80 credits from community college. Not sure how many credits you will get from your flight training, but it shouldn't negatively affect your ability to transfer in other credits.

Not sure exactly how that works with CCAF. Either way, it shouldn't pose a problem.

You can earn up to 57 credits at TESU, depending on your FAA certifications. I believe they can work for a few degree plans including the BSAST, BSTS and BS Aviation Management degree programs. Cornerstone was waived for some programs in the past, but that may of changed with the New Cornerstone requirement, definitely something worth asking about. So you can potentially either bring in 114/117 credits from alternative sources and complete your AOS and electives with FAA certifications. Also TESU and Sophia have a special arrangement for discounted Sophia courses as well for pilots/ALPA members. I believe Sophia courses are discounted to $99 for TESU Aviation degree students that are members of the FAA. You can look at one of the sample plans to see how your credentials may be transferred (click relevant certification links in the AOS) here: BSAST: Aviation Flight Technology using Sophia.org and FAA certifications. |
