TESU New Catalog 2017
#1
I believe that TESU is coming out with a new catalog, which is supposedly effective April 1st. But on their website I can only seem to find the old catalog. Has anyone seen the new one yet? If not, does anyone have an idea of when it will be out?

My suggestion is to apply to the school right away if you haven't already.
And try to enroll before May 25 to skip cornerstone requirements.
There are no fees when you do so, aside from the application fee.
This should lock you into the current catalogue of 2015/2016.

The main difference is the removal and addition of fees such as the residency waiver fee of 2 grand.
My guess is the new catalogue is coming out at the usual times as of yesteryear and before.
That would be July 1. But since they are making changes to so much, that may likely change.

Note: You don't have to send them anything until you are ready, example, transcripts.
Don't rush yourself and work your courses according to your own plan and pace.

I applied the other week to avoid the cornerstone. I need to get busy though on enrolling in something before the May 25 date.

Okay. I've decided to go ahead and apply even though I'm still not done with CLEP and DSSTs. Of course, now that I've made that decision, the portion of their website to set up an account isn't working. I'll keep trying!

Here's the message:
System Offline
Thomas Edison State University's online admissions application and event registration system for information sessions and webinars is offline for scheduled maintenance.

During this time, the online application and event registration for information sessions and webinars will not be available. If you need to contact the University during that time regarding these actions, email the Office of Admissions at admissions@tesu.edu.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

I was told they are switching the catalog date to April 1 starting this year, which explains the issues they've had for the last few weeks with the residency.

So anyone who hasn't already enrolled as of 4/1 will probably be on the 2016/17 catalog.

That's what I was thinking as well. I was reading the other threads, should individuals like me PM you with our details to petition residency requirements or changes to the 2015/2016 catalogue? As in both OSS and myedison, it states I am in the 2015/2016 catalogue. Moreover, it states clearly that changes can occur anytime on the website.

The sad thing is, I have not enrolled yet, as many of us were wanting to "bank up" our ACE credits and such, to transfer them to TESU. I wanted to finish the majority of credits and transfer them before doing the TECEPS. I am hopeful, and think there is a possibility that we can still persuade them to providing a possible solution to this.

Since their changes have been made to be effective April 1. We can ask and seek approval for individuals wishing to continue on the 2015/2016 term, we can keep the 16 credit requirements and also dispute the TECEPS requirements for residency. I am hoping that will be workable, so we don't have to pay the waiver and have the degree come up cheaper!

I was looking into that, I don't know if it is even remotely possible, but it just makes me wonder...
But, that's just me talking. Who knows what will happen, I'll just do my thing until I get that elusive degree.

I waited until the 2nd or 3rd to register for a course specifically to dodge the Cornerstone. It's showing up as planned in my evaluation, which also still shows me on the 15/16 catalog. If the catalog changes on me between now and the start of the May term, I'll report back and let everyone know -- while fighting for a refund for the course I've already paid for.

The TESU application link is still down today. Perhaps they are not letting anyone apply? I've been trying for two days now in the hopes that I might be able to skip the cornerstone class. But time is ticking and the gate seems to be closed.
