TESU June Graduation!!!
#21
Way to go all! I am working round the clock to make June graduation. Have 12 credits to go and am using Penn Foster/DSST to complete the remaining. I live like 1/2 hour from the school, but I feel weird going to the commencement (I'm 44).

If I lived that close, wild elephants wouldn't be able to keep me away. Definitely go especially if you have family that would like to see you get your diploma.

Definitely go. It's a school specifically for adult students, I doubt you'll be too out of place.

Please don't feel awkward and try to come if you can. It's just as big of a deal at 44 as it is in your 20s, if not bigger. Besides, if you were 24 rather then 44, then I'd say you would be in the minority at commencement.

However, with there being so much time to think about it (7 months), I am leaving the door open. Could be something I might look back and regret that I did not attend. My wife feels that I should go and with that many months of her encouraging me to go, I should stop pretending anything but me attending will happen. :roflol:

As much as I want this for myself, I think my husband, mother and mother-in-law are even more excited. It is DEFINITELY a nice memory to share with our families who have put up with us.

If I can complete them during the April & May terms (because I've been waiting far too long on a certain check) then I will be set for the September graduation. I'm still debating if I will actually go to the commencement ceremony since its all the way on the other side of the country.

I hope you can make it!

You're sweet. I will try. My wife also wants me to go.

OK now it feels real - I just officially enrolled! I had been banking credits til now, but they wouldn't talk to me anymore until I actually enrolled...

I'm a little late to the party but I was just certified for June. I will attend the commencement ceremony in September.

Thank you! Once I conquered my fear of DSSTs it was smooth sailing. I failed one TECEP and that lowered my confidence but I got over it by watching the people in this forum and not giving up. I thank everyone here for their support and their previous knowledge as if they had not laid the framework it may not have been so easy. I now will come back and contribute more to the forum to pay it forward as others have done for me.
