I can't figure out from their website how to determine whether you can graduate in 1 semester or 2 or even 3! I can figure out that the Cornerstone is 3cr and takes 8 weeks to complete, the Capstone is actually 2 courses - a 1cr course that takes 5 weeks, and then a 2cr course that takes 10 weeks to complete. But I can't figure out how long their semesters are, so I can see how those courses fit into their calendar.
Can anyone tell me how long the semesters are, so I can see if you're paying for the Student Services Fee and Technology Fee for 1, 2, or 3 semesters? Trying to help a friend with some info.

The capstone depends on your major. I'm a BSBA major and the Capstone is 8 weeks long. I think the general degrees had the 2 course capstones.
If you can schedule the Cornerstone and the capstone in consecutive 8 week terms within the same semester, you'd be able to pay 1 service and tech fee.

I was told by an admissions advisor at COSC it would take two semesters at a minimum to graduate (at least for the general studies major).
It looks like for the most part (summer semester is shorter I think), in each semester there is either a full term, 2 - 8 week terms, or 3 - 5 week terms.
If you had to take everything consecutively it would take 2 semesters, but I do not know what all of their options are.
You might look at their website

And look at what classes you need and what semester/terms they have.

Drawing a blank as to who started it, but one (Great)forum member started a Degree Forum wiki. Many wonderful current members ?post? to it. You might want to check it out. While it probably isn't 100% up-to-date, I think it's fairly current. Decius73's information about two eight-week courses is suggested on it, too.
For all of the folks who are keeping the wiki updated, thank you. It's a wonderful complement to this forum.

I think it's often possible to get it all done in one term. Know that this is probably out of the norm for them and will likely require your guidance counselor to go to bat for you. I think communication and flexibility are key.
Most students actually take COSC courses or courses at other Ct. institutions. what we do here by testing out and bringing in just about everything is NOT what they are used to. Making a compelling case that you're both ready to graduate, and have some sort of "need" to get this done would likely help your cause. I think the CPS (Concentration Plan of Study) still has to be completed and signed off by administration before you can take the Capstone....one would need to start this when they start the cornerstone (if not before), that can be a source of hold up also.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.
