I tried to search the forum, but I couldn't find the answer to this. I've already completed English 1 through a college. Since the CLEP for college comp is 6 credits, will 3 go to English 2 and the other 3 go to electives?

No. You never get extra credit for courses that you've already taken (duplicate courses).
The College Composition Modular CLEP is 3cr and duplicates English I that you already took.
The College Composition w/Essay comes in as a 6cr course, but 3cr will duplicate your English I course, and 3cr will come in as English Comp II.
