TESU CPA Program
#1
Hi,

I am currently enrolled in the TESU BSBA in Accounting. I know that TESU offers thd CPA track. I live in TX where the rules are very strict for a CPA and require face to face accounting courses where New Jersey does not. Would it be more beneficial if I completed the TESU CPA program and fly out and sit for the New Jersey CPA exam? Since they do not require face to face accounting courses?

Yup, it's beneficial to do that. If you get free flight tickets and free board/room/food, why not right? Company's paying that I assume.
But if you're not going to be in New Jersey or not going to be an accountant in that state, it would be a waste of your time... totally.

Only if your TX and NJ have reciprocity; meaning that TX would determine that the NJ CPA exam/license was equivalent to theirs and let you practice there. It does you no good to get a CPA license in NJ if you can't practice in TX!

Check the rules/laws in TX to see if that's the case.

Edit: forgot to mention that it's not usually a single exam, but 4 separate exams. You have a period of time in which to pass them all. So you're probably not going to come to NJ and take all 4 parts in like a 2-day period. I think most people study and sit for 1 exam at a time, so you'd be coming to NJ 4 times to take it.
