Hi again,
After I complete my 12 math credits, I really do want to pursue a degree at TESU based on earning additional credits. I know I asked about potential Accounting type jobs for those who earn a BSBA in Accounting, but in your opinions, which degree makes you more marketable - a BSBA in Accounting or a BSBA in Cyber Security? More job opportunities, better pay, etc.?
Thanks again

It totally depends on what you end up doing, and where you live. I would start looking at job postings where you live to see what there is in each field.

I believe the CyberSecurity degree is not nearly as quick/cheap to complete.
Personally I think that CyberSecurity jobs have become harder to find, because of many new graduates in the past years. I think Accounting is possibly better but that I think you'd want to be CPA-eligible, or the pay isn't as good.

Good morning! It would most likely be in the NJ area. With my current degree at my job, I am just not marketable at all with my lack of specializations and certs.
That’s why I wasn’t sure if normally one of those two had a better job market and higher pay than the other. Hate the feeling of not being marketable or having options

I'm not recommending one path over the other but be aware the Cybersecurity is not a program you can test out of at TESU, the Accounting path is. I will say that if you don't have a love or passion for technology science and (complex) math Cybersecurity could be a tough climb. Now if you like the idea of Accounting mixed in with modern technology there is a growing demand for Forensic Accountants - research the topic, it often combines traditional accounting with technology. Both career paths are detail task driven. Accounting likely has a broader base of types of positions (career path options), where as Cybersecurity is very specific. In the case of Forensic Accounting compared to Cybersecurity there is a good deal of 'puzzle' work in both, trying to figure things out.
Finally if you do decide you have the passion for IT and choose the Cybersecurity route over Accounting I'd have to recommend WGU over TESU.

And if you do go for CyberSecurity, I think most employers want certification(s) such as CISSP. I feel like it's hard to get that first job, but if you do, you might be good from then on. With Accounting I think it's easier to get the first job.

You are all GREAT- thank you!! And for the accounting path, that’s assuming it’s just an accounting degree (not with the CPA, correct). The CPA seems to be a longer process after getting the BSBA that you work towards

Yes the CPA is a longer process, but if you look at salaries, they are averaging in the licensed CPAs who earn more. Without the CPA you get stuck at a lower salary.
Also, I feel like there are students from other schools who get a "B.S. in Accounting" who might be considered more than the "B.S. in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting" which is what TESU's is. But you could often land a job anyway.

You can always go back later and pick up the missing credits you'd need for the CPA exam. There are many career options in Accounting beyond CPA. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is the most publicly recognized type of accountant; but it is just one career path in accounting.
