Hi All! Nice to meet you.
I started lurking here years ago, but have decided to come back after hitting a point where a degree is really needed to take me where I want in my career. I've worked in digital marketing for about 6 years and managed to work my way up to a senior position based on experience alone while working for agencies and SMBs, but I see some great in-house opportunities with larger companies passing me up due to my resume not checking off all the boxes (e.g. no college degree).
For any of you who have gone the TESU route, I would love to hear your insights. Especially if you have finished or are currently working on the BSBA. I've found some resources after lurking around and would love to pick your brain.
What I have so far:
A few scattered credits from community colleges and one Psych CLEP that I did 10 years ago. I'll essentially be starting from scratch, but I am curious if anyone has had much success with TESU's credit for experience (PLA Self-Assessment) given my work experience could be applicable.
Questions for you brilliant people:
I would love to hear more about your story and any other advice/insights you have on obtaining a TESU BSBA.
Thanks,

Questions for you brilliant people:
- I found this BSBA GM degree plan after lurking around in this Dropbox folder, and it seems to be the most up-to-date. However, I'm trying to make sense of it and am curious what the courses highlighted in red mean?
- In your experience, what does the time commitment look like for starting and finishing the BSBA GM? I'm starting from scratch and currently working about 50 hours per week. If I invested about 8-10 hours per week into this could I finish within 2 years? 1 year? 6 months? 3 months? I'm looking to get this done as soon as possible.
- I see there is a study.com residency waiver fee mentioned in the above BSBA GM degree plan. Does this mean I can graduate while only taking a few TESU courses and doing mostly study.com? What is the minimum # of TESU courses needed to earn a degree? This seems to make the degree plan cheaper than $4k, which is very appealing.
- I noticed a lot of these course options mention both Straighterline and Study.com, what is the difference between these in your experience? What has been your preference?
- Did you enroll in TESU while taking all the SL/Study.com courses, or did you wait until you've completed most of the non-TESU courses before enrolling?
I would love to hear more about your story and any other advice/insights you have on obtaining a TESU BSBA.
Thanks,
