Hey y'all,
On my academic eval it shows that it was updated on May 3rd. It had been previously set in March when I had sent in my transcripts.
What reason would they have to reevaluate that eval? I sent the dean a letter asking him to consider adding an NREMT Paramedic eval to their list, could this perhaps be related? Adcademic advising and support didn't want anything to do with my suggestion so I went up the chain. I'm wondering why they'd not contact me at all and instead make adjustments without chatting or notifying me.
Thanks for any insight!

It could be related, what was the nature of the change to your eval? If there was no actual change, then it could just be a fluke of their computer system that updated the date.

I was given the equivalent in credits to an NREMT-EMT license, which is 6. I sent the dean a copy of my Excelsior eval which gave me 47. I asked him to consider adding the NREMT-P designation to their list of professional licenses they give credit for. I said I wasn't concerned with me personally because I am basically done my degree plan. I just wanted someone else in the future to get more than 6 units for 2 years of professional training.

That's TESU all over. They are famous for ignoring the meat of what you ask, in favor of simply DOING something they can handle in 2 minutes. it's an obsession to dismiss your request as quickly as possible. In this case, they granted you the credit they have on file rather than respond to what you actually were asking.

Today they added some ACE credits that I sent in. But there was no change to the TESU-Assessment category. I am guessing it was an arbitrary change at this point.

From my experience you should take screen prints of your evals after each change occurs so you can track changes and have proof incase something is changed negatively later on with no notification or explanation.

Yeah it’s pretty crazy that tesu doesn’t award more credits for NREMT-P. You said excelsior awards 47? What was the process like for that?

TESU is a part of the Consortium for the Assessment of College Equivalency (CACE) with Charter Oak, Excelsior, and 3 other schools. They honor each other's credential evaluations, if you know about the consortium and ask the Office for Assessment of Professional and Workplace Learning (OAPWL) for the match.
TESU's page says, "The University is a founding member of the Consortium for the Assessment of College Equivalency (CACE) along with Charter Oak State College, the Community College of Vermont, Granite State College, and SUNY Empire State College. CACE’s mission is to facilitate degree completion of adult learners by developing new pathways of cooperation among adult-centered colleges and universities regarding reviews of college-equivalent learning from organized, structured learning experiences not sponsored by an accredited college or university, including the promotion of rigorous common standards. Through CACE, the University may be able to accept credit recommendations or awards that result from another CACE institution’s review of a training program or professional credential without the requirement of a transcript from the reviewing institution, provided that the review is current or contemporary to the learning and that the University’s curriculum aligns with the credits recommended in the report. For more information, please contact OAPWL’s Director at apr@tesu.edu."

Excelsior is not listed on that page I linked, but is a founding member of CACE, so my recommendation would be to email TESU and ask them to match the EMT credits.
