Unfortunately, I was bumped from the June capstone to the July capstone course due to some bad advice from one of the admissions people at TESC (back in February, they told me that I could not start the capstone until all of my CLEP and DSST scores were submitted, which was incorrect; in May, they told me that I needed at least a month to prepare for the capstone due to technical issues, which was also incorrect). Now I am assuming that my grade will not be posted and my degree will not be complete until the end of September. This puts me passed the Sept. 15th deadline for an Oct. 1 start date for the WGU MBA program.
Am I wrong in assuming that there is not expedited way to complete the capstone course? Anyone else run into this issue? Anyone else better versed in the process than the admission counselors of TESC, because some of them certainly do not know what they are talking about....
Thanks in advance...

Will WGU let you start Sept 15th if your course work is done and you are just waiting for the degree to be conferred ?

Not likely with what the WGU adviser just told me over the phone.
WGU needs a transcript with a conferred bachelors degree 2 weeks before the start of your program so you can take the assessment exam, as well as other preliminary preparations.
So, my only hope is if there is something about the TESC capstone that I do not know, in terms of getting through it faster. Otherwise, its a November start for me.

Maybe someone can shine some light on the length of the capstone course?
I have read through old threads, but the completion time has not really been discussed.
Also, how long did it take to get confirmation of your degree once you were finished?

The course is about 3 months long. They offer it as a Online or guided study course. I don't know if you can finish all the course requirements early to receive a grade before the course is officially over.
As for the conferring a degree, they confer it for the graduation date. About two or three weeks before the graduation date you'll get an email stating you have met all your requirements for your degree and then they will send you a certification letter. In the letter it congratulates you on completing your degree, when they will send out the diplomas, and that your transcripts will not have your degree conferred or posted if requested before the graduation date.
If I were you, I would email the college and explain your situation to them and hopefully you'll get the answer you want and need. I would also apply now for graduation to get the ball rolling. You can do it online now. If you don't get your degree conferred for September 2015, they automatically re-audit you for December 2015 graduation. Also, make sure you don't have any outstanding bills with the college as it will delay you from graduating as well.
Good luck, I hope this helps or gives you insight on what to expect.
