I have the following experience:
Navy
-Nuclear Field Machinist Mate "A" School
-Cryogenic Technician School
-MM2
IBEW
-Inside Wireman Apprenticeship(5 Year)
-Teledata Apprenticeship(3 Year)
Has anyone had success getting credit for these at Excelsior? ACE shows around 100 credits for them. I wonder how many would apply to anything other than "Applied Professional". I'm thinking that BS Liberal Arts would be the quickest, cheapest way to go. Let me know if I'm wrong.

It depends on which degree program you would be going for. For a general lib arts or business degree, likely most of it would fall under applied professional. If you went for a more technical degree, some of it might fulfill more specific requirements. Unless anyone else has applied to EC with a history similar to yours, the only way to find out is to get an unofficial eval. Feel free to chime in, guys, if I am forgetting something.

I was a Navy nuke; my SMART transcript yielded me 92 usable credits at Excelsior towards a BS in liberal studies with a focus on nuclear technology. The credits satisfied one area of depth. Some of the credits were duplicates, and Excelsior would not accept the P.E. type credits.

I applied to Excelsior for BSET. I will probably drop back to AS in Electronics Technology just to have a degree in hand sooner and to give myself a good point at which to reevaluate goals.
While I am waiting, I will be spending a lot of time with ALEKS, paying the price for never doing math homework way back when and for getting myself kicked out of Nuke Power School...wow...15 years ago.

I finally got it. I took a long time to get my stuff from the IBEW to ACE and then to Excelsior. Then Excelsior took 3 weeks + 2 days to get the eval done. So I guess I am almost a junior...cool.(52 credits towards BEX)
I think I will knock out as much as I can(CLEP,etc) before enrolling. I am on job referral lists in 6 different locals. so I don't know how much or when or where I will be working. I need to maintain flexability.
