I'm helping someone work out a degree plan for social science using as many CLEPs/DSSTs as possible- so I thought I would post it here in case anyone else is interested. Note that there are a lot of extra 100 level exams you can take to use on gen ed electives. This is a history-heavy way to do it, if you are more into psych or sociology, you'll want to use other exam options (TECEP / EC) or take classes.

(information current as of November 11, 2008)

100 level social science exams
TESC need: 6 cr. in major + 12 credits gen ed. = 18 credits needed, choose from 42 possible

Macroeconomics,3
Microeconomics, 3
Western civ 1, 3
Western civ 2, 3
US history 1, 3
US history 2, 3
American govt. , 3
Intro psychology, 3
Intro sociology, 3
Social science and history, 6
Criminal Justice, 3
Anthropology, 3
Cultural geography, 3

200 level or higher social science exams
TESC need: 27 cr. in major needed = choose 27 of 30 possible

Human Growth and Development OR Lifespan Development (not both), 3
Intro Educational Psych, 3
Money and Banking, 3
Western Europe, 3
Civil War, 3
Middle East, 3
Vietnam War, 3
Soviet Union, 3
Organizational Behavior, 3
Drug and Alcohol, 3

Edit feature isn't working for me- but the 27 credits in major isn't an error, it takes into account the previous 6 credits were earned at the 100 level for a total of 33 in major.

I'm very interested in this possibility. Could rap up my BA very quickly; since all my 100 social sciences are taken care of. Then, strait to Grad score. There are only 2 tests that are shaking me on this list. Money and Banking + Middle East. I have heard how bad these are. Any suggestions? Thanks. Great work JenniferWink

Sorry, I didn't take those. I used TESC classes for my concentration, however I'm sure there is info in the "specific exam feedback" folder from those who have taken it! GOOD LUCK!
