TESC and "Remaining Credits"
#1
I've sent this question to TESC but thought that I would probably get a faster answer here.

I applied to TESC for the BSBA CIS and submitted my transcripts. They did the evaluation. It shows:
Code:
S.H.      S.H. Applied   S.H.       Comm Coll     S.H to      Overall  TESC
Required  to Degree Req  Remaining  S.H. Applied  be Planned  GPA Met  GPA
120.00    58.00          62.00      47.00         58.00       YES

So, looking at this I am given the impression that I have 62 credits remaining.

I used their evaluation tool and selected the same degree (BSBA CIS) from the dropdown list and got this:

Code:
Program Status: In Progress
                                  Current..........   Anticipated(*).......
                       Required   Earned  Remaining   Additional  Remaining
Institutional Credits:             11.00       0.00         4.00       0.00
Institutional GPA....:                          Met
Combined      Credits:   120.00    78.01      41.99         4.00      37.99
Combined      GPA....:    2.000    3.522        Met

This gives me the impression that I have 41.99 credits remaining. Am I reading this correctly? Did their automated system give me a better evaluation than the evaluator?

I had the same exact experience.

I applied for the Elec Eng Tech and have 69 remaining.

But selecting almost anything else shows only needing 51. This is the BSAST in Mech Eng Tech, same exact results for BA in Comp Sci, BA in math or Sci/Math.

I also found it out that if you go back in and select the same degree it shows only needing 51 credits in my case.
So I did the "what if i changed my program" but selected BSAST Elec Eng Tech it shows the lesser amount of required credits. So i need to call an advisor and see what the deal is.

I've noticed the software what if scenarios are always off on the credits earned/remaining; it's only correct in your enrolled programs. If you change your program to something different you will see the header adjust accordingly. Just review the evaluation, it will show how many credits are still needed (sections will have blank fill-ins with number of credits at the end).
