Hello all! I've been browsing degreeforum.net's boards for a while now and decided to sign up. I've got a few questions if you can help me out.
I recently received my transcript evaluation back from TESC and since I'm nearing the end of my deployment (Afghanistan) I will not be able to take any classes at TESC due to the time frame. I'm looking to continue taking "non-traditional" courses that I can receive credit for that will fit with my degree plan. My only question is what SL, CLEPS, DSST, etc. can I take in lieu of the classes that I currently do not have credit for? I've taken a few SL courses and only one applied (US History I) in the areas I needed. I was under the impression that the other course I took, personal finance, would have been applied to the humanities section of my degree plan. That was not the case, however, as it was applied to the "free electives" section of my degree plan. I'm currently taking US History II via straighterline and I'm sure that it will be applied to the "social sciences" section of my degree plan thus completing the requirements (12 SH) for that area. I also took a English Composition CLEP and passed it yet I was informed that TESC would not accept it unless I had completed the essay portion as well. Is there a way to take the essay portion soley without retaking the entire CLEP? I'm really interested in finding out what other types of courses I can take in the meantime as I do not have the time to complete a traditional college class. Also, I've never tried using ALEKS yet but will any of those apply towards my degree?
Thank you all in advance for any help you can offer! Shown below is a copy of my TCE.
