I know that Excelsior has a 10-year limitation on the transfer of IT credits. This poses a problem for me since the majority of my college credit dates back to 1993 to 1995; about 110 credits of 122. I see that a person could "challenge" the limitation for a fee and I'm not sure I'm up for that....yet anyway.
This was the reason I applied for Liberal Arts at Excelsior and in IT at TESC. Can anyone tell me if that was a wise move? Any advice? Does TESC have a similar limitation on IT credits?
PS - Both schools have received my transcripts but I'm still waiting for the evaluation.
Thanks!

I believe that TESC will give you up to 9 credits for the stuff that is 10+ years old. After that you have to do a Demonstration of Currency. I only had 12 credits that were 10+ so I can tell you what the upper limit is - if any.

I'm not sure there is a limit for 10+ years, as I had more than 9 credits, just had to prove that they were current.

Thank you for the info...
What kind of work goes into proving they're current?

Don't sweat it. Just send in your transcripts and you will be good to go. I transferred in a bunch of credit and was ok. This credit included MCSD credits and an obscure Oracle training class I took in 2000. There were also university courses dating back to when cell phones were a novelty.

Ahh! Good to know!
I'm thinking of pursuing a BSBA CIS at TESC based off a thread I read yesterday.

It is a good path to follow if you have some college, some certs, and don't worry about the age of the credits. My AP English and Calc I were from 1994 and they are on there along with a bunch of other credits. I was worried about the same thing as you until I sent in my transcripts and all of those old courses showed up.
Send in the transcripts, pay the enrollment fee and get your degree plan on paper assuming they will all transfer. Then start working on the obvious ones you can CLEP/DSST out of and leave the judgement call courses for later. TESC may not award upper level for this, or CIS elective for that so you will have to wait until the eval comes in. That should take 6 weeks.
