Hi,
I'm enrolled at TESC and am on the pre-2015 GE program. Have any of you transferred a 3-cr Religion course into your TESC degree program to satisfy the Personal/Social Responsibility Elective requirement, or do you know of anyone who has? If so, what religion course did TESU accept, and where was it taken?
I am close to graduating, but need to get this resolved. They have refused to apply my Religion course from a regionally-accredited university to fulfill this GE Pers/Soc Resp Elective, but Religion courses offered through TESU satisfy the requirement.
Examples and suggestions are greatly needed!
Thanks so much!

It looks like the focus has to be a global/ diversity aspect, so Intro to World Religions would work, but just Intro to Religion would not. What is the specific course you are trying to use? And do you have any other courses on your transcript that you could shift around to apply instead? From your general ed or free electives, perhaps?
There are a few Saylor courses that would work to fulfill this cheaply- Comparative Politics, for example. And I hear good things about Straighterline Intro to Sociology.
Also, if you haven't used The Institutes free Ethics course, that might work, but it's only 2 credits so you would have to get a waiver and make sure that you have 120 credits total. Saylor's one-hour Intro to Sociology could fulfill the rest if they get persnickety.
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.

I was also under a pre-2015 catalog, and they ended up putting the Human/Cultural Geography DSST in the Personal/Social Responsibility Elective spot. I had also taken the Intro to World Religions DSST but that was slotted to free electives. Not sure if that is helpful at all!
