Hi I am new and just got instacert.com. I need to earn a Bachelors in anything to gain employment with an agency in the private government sector. I was recommended a Bachelors in Human Services or Criminal Justice. I currently have no credits and only hold a CSI certification from AIAS in Virginia. I have looked at TESC and they offer a BAHS but it says has to have 1 yr employment in the field or 1500 volunteer hours. I have over 4000 VH but I do not know if they would be accepted for this particular degree.
I am ready to start testing out but want to make sure that I am going in the right direction in terms on courses. Also I do not plan on registering with TESC till I have at least half of my credits..
Any Advice is greatly appreciated..

Have you obtained any college credits already? Any certifications? Do you have a preference for Criminal justice/Human services?
I would take a look over the degree plans at
TESC Degree Plans - Degree Forum Wiki . I know specifically sanantone keeps hers updated.

If I were to take the Spanish 1 or 2 exam could those credits be accepted for my BSHS? I am bilingual so that would be an easy test for me without any studying..

Language credits go to General Education & Humanities.
If you are a native speaker, consider taking the NYU Foreign Language Proficiency test (16 Credits). More information can be found at:

There aren't 2 different exams for the CLEP. If you pass with a score of 50, you get 6 units, if you pass with a 63, it's 12 units. Not bad for $100!

Yes I am a native speaker and am just looking to get as many credits as possible by testing out. I'm just very confused as to which, what test to take and where, to get through this as quickly as possible. I am between these two and really don't know which would be easier to test out in..

Aside from the experience requirement, the human services degree is a little easier to test out of. I wouldn't call either one test friendly. Another option would be the BA in Social Science where you can mix psychology, sociology, general social science, and some criminal justice credits. At TESC, terrorism and substance abuse are counted as general social sciences. They aren't categorized as psych, soc, CJ, history, political science, etc; but, they can still be used for a social science degree and general education requirements.
