TESC Proctor Process
#1
Can someone please tell me what the process for taking the proctored exams with TESC is like? Do they mail the exam to a location, school, library, etc. or do they assign a username and password to who ever is going to be your proctor? My wife is planning on enrolling at TESC to get her BA in Foreign Language and was curious of the proctor process.
Thanks,

I only took one TECEP exam back in August 2008, so I don't have much experience with the process. It was paper based, and besides getting the proctor form by email, everything else involved mailing paper (form back to TESC, exam papers to and from the testing center).

I would imagine the computer based exams process to be much easier.

I've done 2 paperbased TECEPs. You tell them who your proctor will be (I used my local librarian at the library) They will mail the test to your proctor. You go in and take the exam and then the proctor mails it back. It's actually fairly simple (thank goodness!) Big Grin

Thanks for the replies,
Does anyone have input about the proctor process for the online classes?

The proctor process for the online classes is the same as above. You send the proctor request form and they mail the test to the proctor. The proctor mails it back once you've completed it.

I am taking some online courses now. Some of them don't require any proctored exams. The ones that do, only require the mid term exam to be proctored. The final is either not proctored or is some type of project.

I have taken guided study courses too and they required both, final and midterm, exams be proctored.

I've taken several of the TESC classes. The process is smooth but be sure to plan ahead. They need to send the exam and you need to schedule a couple hours where the librarian can proctor it. Hint: talk to her (mine was a sweet lady) ahead of time.

TESC sends the exam to her and you get a proctor form. The librarian proctors your exam and then mails it back. All in all a good process, but as I said before plan ahead!

Hope this helps. Good luck and enjoy your class!

I am registered as a NJ resident, (but will be in ATL at the time of the exam.......), can I use a proctor from another state without any residential issues...

Proctored tests are soo much easier, but now they're phasing them out. The online tests are okay, if you can get toTESC and tell them you want to keep it as an option.
