For the BSAST it says "Physics or Chemistry (6)". Does this mean 6 credits in one or the other or can I have 3 credits in each?
Thanks
Thanks
TESC - "Physics or Chemistry (6)" - Can this be 3 in each?

I had wondered that myself. I had considered getting a BSAST in Kitchen and Bath design. I think it is suppose to be 6 credits in one area. Maybe you can send TESC an email and find out for sure.

Using my own info, the academic evaluation for the BSAST / Kitchen shows this:
4: General Chemistry Or Physics > Complete 6 semester hours in Chemistry or Physics. Credits: 5 I) Group 1 CHE-121 Chemistry I With Lab....... 12/15/91 B 5 *TE ____________________________________________________________ 1 credit N) Group 2 ___________________________________________________________ 6 credits compared to BSAST in Clinical Lab Science which states ONE FULL YEAR: 4: General Chemistry Credits: 5 Complete 1 of 2 subrequirements: I) A: General Chemistry SH > Complete one full year of General Chemistry. Credits: 5 C) Group 1 CHE-121 Chemistry I With Lab....... 12/15/91 B 5 *TE N) Group 2 ____________________________________________________________ 1 course 12/15/11 Page 3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- N) B: General Chem (QH) > Complete all three quarters of a quarter hour General > Chemistry sequence. Credits: 0 N) Group 1 ____________________________________________________________ 1 course N) Group 2 ____________________________________________________________ 1 course N) Group 3 ____________________________________________________________ 1 course That said, it appears that it is 6 credit hours of any combination chem/physics, IMHO.

Here is the BSAST in Kitchen...
Required Courses: Current Trends and Applications, and completion of a combination of National Kitchen and Bath Association certifications equal to 42 credits • Corollary Requirements: College Algebra, Physics I and II or Chemistry I and II, Statistics, Computer Requirement • How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study: Students may earn credits by selected licenses, certifications, transfer credits, courses or Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). So you need both Phy I & II or Both Chem I & II. Cant mix.

If the CLEP would work, I don't think anyone has tried learning the material through SL or ALEKS and then taking the Chemistry CLEP, yet.

But I am wondering if they have to be courses with a lab? But now that I am thinking about it they only require 6 credits and lab classes would be 4 credits each which would be 8 credits.
