I've been spending hours reading various posts on this forum. It's a great deal of information to take in. At this point I've just applied at TESC, submitted transcripts and will be awaiting the evaluation. While waiting, I plan to study for some CLEP and DSST tests. Below is an attempt to put my existing credits into the TESC Liberal Arts degree plan. I think some of what I plugged in may be incorrect as to where the credits best fit. Some areas are still lacking credits as I'm unsure of what test or course fits best. From what I've read the Ds can not be used for the Area of Study but can be used for General Education or Electives. I'm not sure if anyone can confirm this? Any help with rearranging things in a better order would be great as well as any additional advice.

Roman History might be counted as a social science.

Why aren't you trying for the BA in Nat Sci/Mathematics?
Take the Analyzing Literature CLEP for 6 humanities credits.

*PLAN TO TAKE CLEP SPANISH 6 CR* a higher score will yield 12 instead of 6, if you are somewhat fluent, jsut study harder. If you can't then I second the suggestion for A&I Lit CLEP as an easy 6 credits *PLAN TO TAKE DSST TECHNICAL WRITING 3 CR*

**No, this section is no maximized. You can use FEMA ($0) for free electives, so use your already existing credit inside your major. You need an evaluation done, I can't do an evaluation of your credits since I'm unfamiliar with engineering/sciences - maybe Yenisei would be more help- but certainly don't take those exams when you already have gen eds that COULD be upper level. Seriously, get a Natural Science/Math evaulation done asap. You're close to finishing, and if you only need FEMA, you're WEEKS away from being done. **

Thanks for everyone's input! All my transcripts are in the mail so now just waiting for them to be received and evaluated. TESC said it will take them about a month though when I called. I'm hoping some of the Engineering/Computer courses are upper level as I know I took some of them in my 2nd and 3rd year of college. It seems the best thing to do is start with getting the humanities done 1st via CLEPs. Maybe Spanish to start as it could be 6 - 12 credits. Literature wasn't a strong subject for me so that would take more studying but I will take a look at that CLEP if it satisfies 6 humanities credits. I thought the Liberal Studies degree seemed more flexible but if Natural Science/Math is more efficient in using what I have that would be great. I've seen FEMA mentioned on the forum. Maybe I should take all the FEMA courses TESC accepts as it wouldn't hurt as I probably need some Free Electives? Thanks again and any other input is welcome!

Liberal Studies is more flexible, but Nat Sci/Math is a better degree to have for most people, especially considering it's pretty much a liberal arts degree itself, just a bit more rigorous than the Liberal Studies degree.

Hi everyone,
I have now passed the CLEP for Spanish 6 credits.
Also, after researching a bit it appears the Roman History course may be similar to Roman Civilization HIS-327. If so, this may be UL credit.
TESC should now have my transcripts and I had the CLEP results sent directly. Now just waiting for the evaluation to see where I stand.
My plan now is to take another CLEP to satisfy the remaining Humanities needed over the next couple weeks. Other than that I don't know if it would make sense to do anything else until the evaluation comes back?

Congrats on Spanish! I think you are very close, and when you get down to the wire like you are, it might be best to pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy your little break

Anything you add in now will just be part of a REevaluation which takes additional time.

Thanks for the encouragement Jennifer.
I have since completed CLEP Analyzing & Interpreting Literature 6 credits which should complete the Humanities when combined with Spanish.
While at the testing center I passed CLEP US History I also for 3 more credits which should finish off Social Sciences?
I took both without studying. I wouldn't recommend that for the History as I just made it.
I spoke with TESC last week and they said it would probably take another week or so for the evaluation.
From what I can tell, I'll most likely need some Free Electives and some UL credits depending on the evaluation results of what I have above.
I feel good about the 15 credits of CLEP though. I wish I had known about these sooner!
Now I guess I'll wait and see. Then look at some of the DSST tests for UL credit if needed later?
