TESC Heres to your health?
#1
Can anyone tell me if Heres to your health would be counted for a social science credit at TESC? I looked through the handbook, but only says that it counts as "human services". Has anyone had this test accepted as a social science? Thanks in advance.

I have seen some people post thier thoughts. Most of them believe that it would count under a social science, but I was trying to get confirmation from another actual TESC enrolled student that has had an evaluation. I just don't want any more "free electives" they are overflowing my evalRolleyes

Cookderosa graduated from TESC with a BA is Social Sciences last year and posted her degree plan which included the Here's to your Health CLEP. That might help answer where that test fits in the TESC degree plan.

The link is posted below (I don't know how to make it appear as a link, so I copied and pasted the address)

****OOPS! I just looked at the degree plan and did NOT see that CLEP listed after all. Sorry about that.****

Not a problem. Yeah, I looked at Jennifer's posting along w/many others. No luck yet. I will find out soon. Just took the exam 3 weeks ago. Paper and pencil test, so I won't get the grade for 4 to 6 weeks. I will keep checking on myedison, and will post what happens to my eval with the TESC "advisors":p

I still have not recieved the grades back yet on this one. Does anyone know if Heres to your health can be used as General Elective for the BA L.S. ? Thanks

I just came on here to post the exact question you asked. Anyone else find out about this.? I rather take this CLEP than drugs and alcohol.

Ask an advisor at TESC if you can place this into your plan as a SocSci. The TESC catalog lists this as an Applied, but it also lists DSST Fundamentals of Counseling as an Applied and I was able to get them to approve DSST Counseling as a Psych based on it's similarity to a particular Psych TECEP. It never hurts to ask. I suggest asking via the online Service Desk so that whatever answer you get will be available later. If they approve it, they'll place the test in your degree plan as a 'pending' item.

Great idea. Thanks you for the feedback. I think I'm going to give it a shot.
